If you’ve learned AWS services but haven’t yet put them together in a real, secure setup — this session is for you.
In this 2-hour hands-on lab with Kevin Tuei, we’ll walk through building a security-focused, multi-tier web application architecture using AWS Free Tier services. You won’t just talk about best practices — you’ll implement them live in the AWS Console.
Together, we’ll set up a properly segmented VPC, launch EC2 instances in private subnets, configure tightly controlled security groups, attach IAM roles instead of using credentials, and deploy an encrypted RDS database. Every step is done with production-style security in mind.
By the end of the session, you’ll have a working, secure infrastructure and a clearer understanding of why each security decision matters.

Stable internet and computer
AWS free tier account
Basic knowledge of AWS services
